Managing Partner
Hernando Guzmán is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of XBV. With over a decade of venture capital experience, Hernando has focused on healthcare, information technology, and services industries. In XBV, he drives the identification of innovative startups with strong management teams, fostering growth and international market opportunities.
Hernando also serves as a board member for CureMetrix, a global leader in AI for medical imaging, and founded Dat's Why, providing geobehavioral data for decision-makers in Latin America. Previously, he held positions as VP at LIV Capital, and in Bearing Point and Accenture, he has also founded different startups since he was 16 years old.
Hernando holds an MBA from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, along with a BS in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana. He is also a proud Kauffman Fellow Class 16.
José Antonio García Cors

Jose Antonio Garcia Cors is a Managing Partner at XBV, bringing over 30 years of experience as an investor across multiple industries, with specializations in healthcare and real estate. At XBV, Jose Antonio leverages his extensive expertise to drive strategic investments, lead pipeline generation and foster growth within the portfolio companies.
Before joining XBV, Jose Antonio served as a Partner at Innovasalud, focusing on investment capital in the healthcare sector. Additionally, he has held various leadership positions at IQVIA, Inoxum, Farmacias Personalizadas among others.
Jose Antonio holds a degree in Civil Engineering from U.N.A.M, providing him with a strong foundation for his analytical and strategic approach to investment management.
Mony de Swaan
Managing Partner
Mony de Swaan has extensive experience as a former public servant and current independent consultant in the telecommunications, water and pharmaceutical industries.
In addition to his role at XBV, Mony is the Founder & CEO of Centro de Estudios e Investigación en Asuntos Públicos (CEIAP SC), an independent consulting firm specializing in telecommunications and water. Throughout his career, Mony has held various leadership positions, including Chairman of the Board at the Comisión Federal de Telecomunicaciones, the Mexican telecommunications and broadcasting regulation authority.
Mony holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from El Colegio de México and an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He also did some non-degree studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and wrote his BA thesis about Israel´s National Security.

Fernando del Río serves as a Managing Partner at XB Ventures, leveraging his extensive background in venture capital and strategic consulting to drive growth and innovation. With over two decades of experience, Fernando has held key roles in leading organizations across various sectors, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and technology.
Prior to joining XB Ventures, Fernando served as a Partner at Innovasalud, focusing on strategic initiatives in the healthcare industry. He also held positions at Pharmaceutical Microbiology Resources, IQVIA, and The Boston Consulting Group, where he contributed to shaping business strategies and driving operational excellence.
Fernando's academic credentials include an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and an Engineer’s Degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana.
Héctor Valle
Managing Partner
Hector Valle brings extensive expertise in pharmaceutical market consultancy and guidance to his role as Managing Partner at XB Ventures. With a career spanning over three decades, Hector has played pivotal roles in leading organizations across the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Hector is also the Executive President of Funsalud (Fundación Mexicana para la Salud) a leading organization dedicated to promoting advancements in healthcare practices and policies in Mexico.
Before joining XB Ventures, Hector co-founded INNOVASALUD, where he focused on strategic initiatives within the healthcare industry. Hector's illustrious career includes significant leadership roles at IMS Health, Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Novartis, and Ciba Vision, where he demonstrated his strategic acumen and business prowess.
His academic background includes studies at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Alain Falkon
Managing Partner
Alain Falkon, a Managing Partner at XB Ventures, brings a wealth of experience from diverse sectors, including technology integration and executive education. As President of Telectrónica for over two decades, he pioneered data capturing and automation solutions across Latin America, leveraging technologies like RFID and IoT. With an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Alain bridges academia and industry, enriching XB Ventures with his extensive expertise.
In addition to his role at XB Ventures, Alain directs the Business Undergraduate Program at Universidad de Palermo, overseeing Management Studies and Economics/Finance Departments. Alain's governance extends to Corporación de Industrias Plásticas SA (CIPSA), a leading plastics manufacturer, and Total Source S.A., where he served as Managing Partner, steering the company's trajectory in lighting fixtures and LED bulbs distribution.
